Eco-Photo Explorers is devoting this web section to help promote the Atlantis Marine World Aquarium in Riverhead, NY. Through exhibits and other programs, the Atlantis Marine World is helping to stimulate and enhance the public's knowledge of the marine environment. We are also proud to have some of our underwater photography on display at Atlantis Marine World.

Atlantis Explorer

  • 42,000 square foot indoor facility where most of the exhibits can be viewed
  • 120,000 Gallon "Lost City Of Atlantis" Shark Tank
  • 800 square foot natural rockscape pool for harbor seals - in front of the aquarium
  • The Country's Largest Live Public Coral Reef Display
  • Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation (RFMRP) - exhibits will focus on Long Island and the New York State Marine Mammal and Sea Turtle Stranding Program.
  • Ecological Wetlands Exhibits - A marsh reclamation and pond display along the banks of the serene Peconic River with elevated nature trails and Ecology Education Center.
  • Environmental Tour Boat - Atlantis Explorer, naturalists will guide and educate the passengers while cruising along the banks of the Peconic River and Flanders Bay.
  • Three Touch Tanks - These exhibits allow children as well as adults get close and personal with various marine animals.
  • Submarine Simulator
  • Waterfront Picnic Area
  • Atlantis Cafe
  • Gift Shop

Atlantis ExplorerAs a passenger on the Atlantis Explorer, you will also participate in their exclusive "Shoreline Stroll." During the course of the cruise, the boat will "beach" itself in a remote region along the Peconic River.

After disembarking, Atlantis Explorer naturalists will conduct a brief wetlands tour of the local flora, fauna and wildlife. Tours are conducted by certified naturalists from Cornell Cooperative Extension's Marine Program.
