NUMC Hyperbaric Seminar
Long Island Diving Association (LIDA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the sport of scuba diving in and around Long Island, act as a communication liaison between divers and government to promote and protect divers’ interests and to help protect and preserve our marine environment.
This year LIDA in conjunction with Life Saving Technologies will be sponsoring a free major seminar at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow. It will include tours of the multi-place hyperbaric chamber at the hospital and presentations on hyperbaric medicine, two programs about German U-Boats discovered along the northeast coast and a program on Long Island Shipwrecks.

Eco-Photo Explorers examines the exciting world of shipwrecks through the use of photography and history. Many of Long Island's shipwrecks are discussed, including their history, artifacts found on these wrecks and their present state under the water. A discussion that highlights some of the marine life that inhabits these artificial reefs is included. |
