Manatees: The Gentle Giants

Manatees: The Gentle Giants

Once the inspiration for the legend of the Mermaid, Manatees today are hardly known as the Sirens of the Sea. Although they are loveably cute, gentle in disposition, harmless to Man and lacking in natural predators, today the Manatee finds itself on the brink of extinction.

In this program, Eco-Photo Explorers will examine the Manatee's natural history and explore the many reasons for their decline. Through the use of a multimedia show and video, the viewer is transported to the inland waterways and natural springs of Central Florida to witness Manatees in their natural environment. This presentation is an educational and entertaining experience for all.

In this presentation, Eco-Photo Explorers examines how the technology of underwater exploration has changed over the years.

We will also discuss the variety of tools and devices available today and offers a glimpse into the future of underwater technology. Finally, through the use of multimedia, the viewer is taken on a journey into the forbidding world of the North Atlantic. Photo Courtesy: JASON Press Office
